Joulupuu on rakennettu, joulu on jo ovella.
Namusia ripustettu ompi kuusen oksilla.

Kuusen pienet kynttiläiset valaisevat kauniisti.
Ympärillä lapsukaiset laulelevat sulosti.

Kiitos sulle, Jeesuksemme, kallis Vapahtajamme,
kun sä tulit vieraaksemme, paras joululahjamme.

Tullessasi toit sä valon, lahjat rikkaat, runsahat.
Autuuden ja anteeks'annon, kaikki taivaan tavarat.

Anna, Jeesus, Henkes' valon jälleen loistaa sieluumme
sytytellä uskon palon. Siunaa, Jeesus, joulumme.

translation went today this way:

Christmas tree is built, Christmas is already knocking at the door.
Candies are hanging on the spruce branches.

The small candles of the spruce illuminate beautifully.
Around the kids are singing nicely.

Thank you, Jesus, our precious Savior,
When you came to our guest, our best Christmas gift.

You brought the light when you came in with rich gifts.
Blessedness and forgiveness, all goods of heaven.

Jesus, let your spirit's light again shine to our souls
Ignite the fire of faith. Bless, Jesus, our Christmas.

5. Joulupuu on rakennettu
(words: G.O.Schöneman - music: trad) I think this is about a Christmas Tree. I think Finland has more Christmas songs than any other country in the world - and maybe that's the only happy songs they have too! Though I'm not sure if Jore's version of this tune is sad or happy. It sounds like a grumpy dwarf in the middle of the woods who is singing and playing heavy metal guitar -- Davy

This is much heavier and darker than the original which all the kids sing at the school at Christmas time. I'm not so sure if it (the original) is a happy song; by the lyrics it is but the music has some minor chords, too. But I admit I arranged this to be almost unknown. I didn't touch the melody, though. -- Jore
